The EJE team has received its first award!
At the Dean's Service Awards achieving “highly commended in the category of Research Outcomes” for research into the use of mobile social media tools such as Twitter, Storify, Blogging and Skype in various classroom settings throughout this year, under the stewardship of Thomas Cochrane, CfLAT (Centre for Learning and Teaching).
Enhancing Journalism Education (EJE) is a community of research-focused practitioners who aim to aim to critically explore mobile social media applications in order to untangle the complex publishing and archiving of contemporary news mediascape to enable student-directed Heutagogy leading to enhanced learning outcomes of news and values, social media publishing and social capital. The COP was established a year ago by Thomas Cochrane (CfLAT); Helen Sissons, Richard Pamatatau and Danni Mulrennan (Journalism); and Ian Howard (TVNZ) and combines the expertise of reflective practitioners, lecturers and industry stakeholders through international collaboration, cultural, textual, audio and visual media.
